The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown happens this coming weekend, April 20-22 in Durango. This marks the 20th anniversary of The Badly Bent performing at this amazing festival.
This year's band lineup is a bit different from what you've seen in the past. But, we've stuck to our roots. We are a traditional bluegrass band, playing originals and some under the radar tunes that you may or may not have heard. We are so happy to have Kyle Schoonover join us on dobro. Kyle's music heritage is somewhat legendary in the bluegrass world. His father, Kent, is a renowned dobro builder. His playing fits so well with our music.
Our set this year will be our 'traditional' set at the Strater Theatre on Friday night at 8:00 between two of the national acts. Absolutely one of our favorite sets of the year,, we are so grateful to the Meltdown Board of Directors for letting us perform in this coveted slot.
Come say hi after the set. The faces might be changing but our love for traditional, hard driving bluegrass has not. New songs, old songs, originals, covers - we bring it all.
