Sorry for the hiatus in the website updates. It has been a very busy spring for our webmaster (Mark) and things are getting solidified for our summer. Whew.
How about this year's Meltdown? If you missed the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown this year, you missed a good 'un. Jim Lauderdale, Infamous Stringdusters, Chris Stuart...heck, the whole festival was great. It was a very busy weekend for The Badly Bent. We had one heck of a party at Steamworks on Friday night of the Meltdown. If you were there, you know what I mean. Thanks to all of our friends and family for hanging with us during the weekend.
So now, after a month and a half off, we are getting ready to start our busy summer schedule. We only have a few weekends open this summer to enjoy the beautiful part of the country we live in but, no complaints. Our schedule this summer takes us to some great festivals and lots of wonderful private parties.
We kick off the summer at a brand new festival in Pagosa over the first weekend in June. Dan and Crista Appenzeler are putting on a second bluegrass/acoustic festival (Pagosa Folk and Bluegrass Festival) and we get to be a part of the inaugural event. We have three sets during the weekend and the lineup is terrific with Cadillac Sky, Brian Sutton and Russ Barenburg, Martha Scanlan, and The Biscuit Burners, to name a few. Check this one out...if you've ever been to the Four Corners Folk Festival over Labor Day, you know how fantastic the location is. www.folkwest.com
The rest of June is filled with weddings and private parties except for the last weekend of June, when we will be making what we hope will be annual appearance at the Dolores River Brewery. We played there last year to one of the warmest, most hospitable crowds we've seen. Everyone was up dancing under a beautiful starlit night outside. We expect that this year's show there won't be any different. Mark out June 28 for a party in Dolores.
I'll try to keep this blog a bit more up to date and a bit more timely. Thanks for your patience.
