The Badly Bent is a high energy traditional bluegrass band based in Durango, Colorado. The band features tight lead and harmony vocals, award-winning instrumental performances, and a warm, friendly stage presence.
It's hard to imagine that there are only 2 months left in 2014. It has been a great year for The Badly Bent. We've had several really fun gigs this year, starting out with our sold out show at the Strater last winter.
From my business days, I learned the expression: What are the last 7 words of a dying company? Answer: But we've always done it like that. (OK, technically 8 words: we've is a contraction). The Badly Bent will be going through some evolutinary and some may consider, revolutionary, changes over the next couple of months but we're excited about the changes and what it means for our music and performances.
Fret not, though. Our show next Friday, Nov. 7, at the Strater will be the usual cast of suspects. This show has two purposes. First, the Durango Meltdown (www.durangomeltdown.com) is showing appreciation to its 100+ volunteers by inviting them to this show at no cost. Second, The Badly Bent is underwriting this show and any profits made from ticket sales will go directly to the Meltdown as a fundraiser. All good! There was some confusion on the details of the show but, as we understand it, doors will open at 6:00 pm, La La Bones will perform from 6:30 - 7:30 and The Badly Bent will play from 8:00 - 10:00.
Although we don't have more shows on our calendar at this time, we are working hard on new material and looking ahead to festival season next summer. We will post our appearances as we get them booked.
Thanks for all of your support and for a great 2014.
See you all at the Strater next Friday night.
