The Badly Bent is a high energy traditional bluegrass band based in Durango, Colorado. The band features tight lead and harmony vocals, award-winning instrumental performances, and a warm, friendly stage presence.
I forgot how time consuming it is to keep stuff up to date - and I haven't done a good job at it at all! Oh well, time to move on.
The band is still pumped from our show at the Strater on February 28. For those of you who were there, thank you so much for your support of that sold-out show. I know there were a lot of disappointed folks who couldn't get tickets. Sorry. There'll be many more opportunities to see us again soon.
The week after the Strater show, we had a really good time playing to an intimate crowd up at Purgy's at Durango Mountain Resort. Thanks for all the new fans and old friends who stuck around to listen.
We are all excited about the upcoming Durango Bluegrass Meldown (www.durangomeltdown.com) which will be held April 11-13 in downtown Durango. The Badly Bent will be playing Saturday morning at 11:00 am at the Durango Arts Center and Sunday morning at 10:00 am at the Strater Theatre. I'm not sure who we upset on the scheduling committee but sets before noon on each day is a bit tough, especially the Sunday set. Nevertheless, we're looking forward to playing some music and having a great weekend.
The lineup for the Meltdown is the best that I can remember: Blue Highway, Town Mountain, Earl Brothers, the list goes on. This may be the very first year I listen to more music more than I play.
After the Meltdown, we get a bit of downtime. Keep checking back here for upcoming gigs: The next one we have is the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway's Brew Train, May 24. Stay tuned for more details. Should be fun.
Thanks again for welcoming us back!
